A good Dual Coffee/Espresso Maker?
Tuesday, May 4th, 2010I own a Krups machine that is both a coffee maker and an espresso machine. It is finally starting to ‘kick the bucket’ and I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas on a replacement model. While I was OK with the Krups one, the espresso side of it wasn’t all that hot, literally. I’m not looking to spend more than $200 on both things. Do you know of a good coffee/espresso machine, or should I get seperate ones? If so, are there any brands or types recommended within that price range? Thank you!

How much coffee is needed to make one shot of espresso?
Thursday, April 15th, 2010I’m a little confused. I believe that one shot would need about 1.7 fl. oz of water, but I don’t know how much coffee grinds (or espresso) grinds to use! I prefer to use coffee grinds instead because that’s what I have.
My machine did not come with measurements, only how to use the machine. Help!

Espresso Machine Waters Down The Coffee Ground?
Monday, April 12th, 2010I got an espresso machine for Christmas(woo!) and have drank way too many shots over the course of the past few days trying to refine my espresso making skills … unfortunately, I think they got worse!
I have the “Espressione 1329 Café Roma” (I will link to it at the bottom). My problem is this … if it even is a problem … I grid the coffee beans, put them in the coffee-ground-holder-thing and tamp it down. I press the espresso button and wait as the water is filtered through and produces espresso. Yay!. issue is, the coffee grounds in the filter thing are heavily watery and I am pretty sure they should not be so …
A) Is this a bad thing?
B) What does the watery status of the coffee grounds do to the quality of the shots?
Thanks!

Whats the difference between espresso’s and coffee?
Saturday, April 10th, 2010I was wondering what the difference is between espresso and coffee??I dont really care for coffee all that much but i kind of like drinks like at Starbucks and stuff with flavor and espresso shots in it or something. Can the machines make stuff like that? And what do the espresso shots do? Do they give you energy and like how many should you take. Honestly, i just like making drinks and stuff, if i dont really like coffee will it be dumb for me to get a espresso machine..i would make them they way i wanted…I was looking at the espresso machines on walmart.com from 30-200$ thats all i would spend..What do you guys think. and also please tell me the difference between cappacino, macchiato, and lattes and stuff
Gabriel
