I have a Moulinex coffee maker and espresso machine. It is wrote on the appliance that its power is 1900w. Does it really use so much energy even when it’s only holding the coffee hot? Is it ok to let the appliance be on for hours, so that coffee is hot and ready whenever you want?

keith asked:
I have a Kenwood Cafe Retro espresso machine and it occassionally produces a really silty gritty coffee in which some of the coffee ground has made it into the cup, thus deeming it undrinkable. I make sure I tighten the arm tightly to maintain a good seal and I compact down the coffee ground nicely. This probably happens once every 5 coffees and is very annoying. Is it a problem that can be resolved? Am I doing something wrong or is my machine beginning to give up? I have asked a similar question before but did not get any useful answers, thus I am asking again.
Hope someone can help.
In response to your question, I have never really cleaned it. However about 1 month ago I did run vinegar infused water through the system countless times which did not seem to yeild results. However if I leave the machine unused for a week or two it seems to produce an AMAZING coffee and then it would go tempramental after that. I would love to know what I am doing wrong or indeed whether the machine is failing. I’d also love to know simply why this happens. Could I just need a replacement metal filter??
In response to JSin, I use Illy and Lavazza ground coffee. I apreciate your answer as it seems likely that the pressure is to blame, and you’ve allowed me to realise this. I also apreciate you looking for reviews of the machine. I am planning on getting a Delonghi espresso machine as a replacement. Are they generally good?

chrismariesan asked: my espresso machine managed to “suck up” milk into the main compartment….and I have NO idea how to clean it. This is my machine:

The top of the machine is not open…..there are bars of sort crisscrossing the top…making it impossible to put my hand in, or even a scrubber or rag. When I look inside the machine I can see the milk gunk but rinsing it out will not get it out. Please help!!

M=C asked:
There has been a espresso/coffee maker (might just be espresso and latte) machine on a commercial on tv and it shows the machine making the drink into a tall mug… It has been on in the past month or two… Does anyone know the name of this machine by chance? My grandmother wants it for Christmas and I cannot remember the name of it and of course the commercial is nowhere to be found now that I want to know what it was! lol

Honey asked:
I want to get my husband a coffee maker for Christmas and I keep seeing ones that also have an attached espresso maker. I have no clue what espresso is exactly, but I think he would enjoy it. Could someone please explain to me what Espresso is and how it’s made and how you are supposed to drink it. Also, if you know what brand is the best. Thank you

Cole P asked: Hi, today I am going to be buying an espresso machine and I have a coffee grinder but I do not know how fine to grind the beans. On my grinder there is a dial that goes from “Course —to—Fine” what is the best grind for espresso? Fine or course?

I own a Krups machine that is both a coffee maker and an espresso machine. It is finally starting to ‘kick the bucket’ and I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas on a replacement model. While I was OK with the Krups one, the espresso side of it wasn’t all that hot, literally. I’m not looking to spend more than $200 on both things. Do you know of a good coffee/espresso machine, or should I get seperate ones? If so, are there any brands or types recommended within that price range? Thank you!
