Trying to make a hot latte - help?

Wendy F asked:

I have a good cappuccino/espresso machine with 15 bars of pressure, and when I make an espresso the coffee itself is very hot. But once I steam the milk and add it to make a latte, it is just lukewarm and cools very quickly. What am I doing wrong? Should I be steaming the milk until it’s piping hot? I was told to steam it until the metal pitcher felt warm on the outside.

I suppose I could just nuke it when I’m done, but any other suggestions would be appreicated. Thanks! I can’t pay for Starbucks anymore and need this to work :)

Maxime Savard-Beaudoin asked:

My expresso machine just broke down! it wont heat! the timer light turns on but never turns off to tell me its warm enough… when i start flowing water through the coffee, its completely cold and not flavourful. I think i might have left it turned on for 15 minutes one morning… would it be the case? help please!!
Is there a way to repair it for less cost than buying a new one? Are there any places for that kind of repair?

Hi! We have an espresso machine at work. Usually I drink 2 Lavazza espresso per day. Yesterday they brought us cappuccino…made of dry milk. I was wondering…what is healthier: coffee or cappuccino? And what is the RIGHT rate of coffee per day? Thanks
