Why won’t the milk frother work on my Mr. Coffee Espresso machine?

Jake asked:

Maybe you can tell me what I’m doing wrong. Here are the exact steps I take in brewing espresso:
1) Grind beans on a fine setting.
2) Fill metal filter with grounds (b/c I’m making 4 cups)
3) Tamper the grounds so they are tightly packed
4) Insert and lock Brew Head
5) Fill glass container to the 4 cup mark
6) Dump water into reservoir and tightly close lid
7) Turn knob to Brew 8) Allow espresso to brew
**At this point, once espresso is dripping, steam is coming from the brew head. Is it escaping when it shouldn’t be?**
9) Place frothing head into milk
10) Turn knob to Steam and nothing happens.

I can’t even “release the pressure” like the manual says to do so I’m always afraid that I’ll get steam burns when removing the reservoir lid.

Please help!!

Can anyone help me with my Krups espresso/coffee machine?

Jo asked:

I just purchased a Krups xp2070 espresso/coffe machine today and I am trying to figure out how to make the blue backlight on the LCD screen stay on all the time. After it finishes making coffee or doing any other functions, the blue light goes right out. I really want it to stay on all the time since I like to be able to see the clock from a distance. Does anyone know if this is possible? I can’t find anything in the owner’s manual that came with it.

Eric T asked:

I was just wondering if anyone knows why something like this would happen. Mine are only a little bit thicker than coffee and that is only because of the crème. I didn’t know if its just the difference in espresso machines or the beans or if it had anything to do with how much pressure I put on the puck.

I need recommendations for a new espresso machine?

When I started drinking espresso, I tried my hand making it at home. Not sure if it would take, I bought the Mr. Coffee ECM20 which was economical, and I must admit it was good when it wasn’t spewing steam out the top or one of the parts wasn’t broken. It’s time for a new machine. (I’ve spent more on replacement parts than I did on the machine.) I’m looking for something that is still economical and fairly easy to maintain. Thanks.

Josh asked:

What’s the best espresso machine i can get for around $100?
I know its not much, but I’m not too picky about coffee; I’ve been doing fine on a steam operated one, but would like a pump operated one

I’ve been looking at these two:

culd_ub_loved asked:

I recently purchased a really nice espresso machine, and I was told that regardless of how nice your machine is, a nice grinder is essential to making a good espresso. I know that the Rancilio Rocky is one of the best however, it is a little out of my price range. Can anyone recommend a good coffee grinder under $200?
